Leonhardt’s Launchpads, an innovation and startup accelerator with operations in California and Utah announced today a partnership with Prizm Medical and its affiliated Weartech Therapeutics to collaborate in developing, testing and commercializing a number organ regeneration and recovery products.

Leonhardt’s Launchpads operated by Cal-X Stars Business Accelerator, Inc. in California and Leonhardt’s Launchpads Utah, Inc. in Utah has patented and has patented pending organ regeneration and recovery technologies based on bioelectric signaling control of stem cell homing and differentiation as well as controlled release of regeneration promoting proteins.  For severe disease cases this is combined with a micro infusion pump and repeat delivery of a stem cell + growth factor based regeneration composition with up to fifteen components including amniotic fluid, selected exosomes, PRF and nutrient hydrogel.

Prizm Medical and it’s affiliated Weartech Therapeutics have developed and brought to market with FDA 510K market clearance a full lineup of portable wearable electrical stimulation devices and intelligent conductive garments including knee wraps, socks, skin face masks, hair head helmets, gloves and full body tights.

Leonhardt’s Launchpads organ specific focused startups will employ its proprietary and patented bioelectric signaling platform in combination with Prizm Medical’s portable wearable stimulators and Weartech Therapeutics intelligent conductive garments to treat disease states that do not require an implantable device or do not require a high precision bench top stimulator in a clinic, where patients can have at home treatments.

Examples of combined applications under consideration include the following:

  • Vasustim www.vascustim.com plans to use Prizm Medical’s wearable stimulator and conductive wraps and socks to treat diabetic foot and leg ulcers after patients receive high fidelity bioelectric treatments 2X per week at a clinic and in some cases, where permitted via regulatory pathways, also treatments with stem cells, growth factors, PRF, nutrient hydrogel, exosomes, Micro RNAs, matrix and amniotic fluid membranes.   The portable at home treatments with the Prizm Medical products is expected to enhance and accelerate healing.  Clinical trials of this combination are in planning stages now.
  • OrthoStim www.ortho-stim.com plans to use a similar combination as above for treating degenerated joints.
  • Skin-Stim www.skin-stim.com plans to use a similar combination as above for facial and neck skin regeneration.
  • CerebraCell www.cerebracell.com plans to use a similar combination as above for stroke and brain injury recovery.
  • DentaCell Accelerator – www.dentacellaccelerator.com plans to use a similar combination for dentistry applications.
  • OrthodontiCell – www.orthodonticell.com plans to use a similar combination for orthodontic accelerated tooth movement and stabilization.

“The wearable portability that the Prizm Medical and Weartech Therapeutics products bring us is exactly what our patients and clinicians demanded to reduce time needed to be in clinics for treatment sessions.  We are really excited about what this partnership means in particular to our patients quality of life”.  states Dr. Leslie Miller Chief Medical Officer for Leonhardt’s Launchpads

“The Leonhardt team has a proven track record of bringing products from concept to market leadership and eventually to successful exit.  We are particularly impressed with the quality of the research collaborators and large Scientific Advisory Board comprising more  than 35 opinion leading clinicians and scientists in the field of regenerative medicine and organ recovery.”  stated Jim Johnson, President & CEO of Prizm Medical;

About Leonhardt’s Launchpads:

Leonhardt’s Launchpads by Cal-X Stars Business Accelerator, Inc. www.lventuresnestg.wpenginepowered.comand www.calxstars.com opened up in 2008 in Northern California, in 2013 in Los Angeles and in 2015 in Utah as the innovation and startup accelerator arm of Leonhardt Ventures LLC.  Leonhardt Ventures LLC (H.J. Leonhardt & Co. and formerly Leonhardt Vineyards LLC DBA Leonhardt Ventures) has been developing and bringing to market medical devices and biologics since the 1980’s.  In the 1980’s they patented and developed a unique cardiovascular balloon catheter line. In the 1990s the world’s leading stent graft for aortic aneurysm repair and the first percutaneous heart valve. In the 2000’s they innovated and brought to clinic some of the first stem cell therapies for organ regeneration. In 2001 Leonhardt led a team that completed the landmark first ever non-surgical stem cell repair of human heart. Since 2010 the research focus has been on the combination of bioelectric signaling, a re-fillable micro infusion pump and a mixed composition for organ regeneration. 30 organ specific startups are in the current portfolio class.  The accelerator business model is to advance each organ specific therapy through first-in-man clinical study results and then seek to secure a strategic partner.  In Utah they operate as Leonhardt’s Launchpads Utah, Inc. with a research laboratory at USTAR’s BioInnovations Gateway in Salt Lake City.
