Leonhardt’s Launchpads is accelerating 30 organ regeneration focused innovations and corresponding organ specific startups, 13 of which are at or near clinical stage of development, all but one of which are based on the same core platform technology of bioelectric signaling matched when needed with repeat delivery of mixed biologic compositions.

Leonhardt’s Launchpads by Cal-X Stars Business Accelerator, Inc. has joined ScaleLA “The Hub of Healthcare Innovation in LA”

Leonhardt’s Launchpads utilizes precise bioelectric signaling to control release of specific regenerative proteins on demand such as SDF1 and PDGF for stem cell coming, follistatin for muscle repair, IGF1 for DNA repair, tropoelastin for increasing tissue elasticity and klotho and sonic hedge hog proteins designed and intended for multiple organ regeneration applications. For severe organ recovery needs they add repeat micro pump infusion of mixed biologics compositions in addition to bioelectric stimulation signaling. The accelerator is launching separate focused startups for each organ specific application of this core technology such as KidneyCell www.kidney-cell.com for kidney regeneration and CerebraCell www.cerebracell.com for brain regeneration.

“ScaleLA is just what the Los Angeles region needed to invigorate healthcare innovation development.  We are truly excited to be members” stated Howard Leonhardt, Executive Chairman and CEO of Leonhardt’s Launchpads

The team has published or presented clinical data on bioelectric based regeneration and healing working with research collaborators on over 200 patients and is working to gather more data.  Pre-clinical studies for bioelectric cancer therapy www.cancercellinc.com are underway at UCLA and the Pacific Neurosciences Institute in Santa Monica, CA.  The team is completing heart regeneration pre-clinical studies at the University of Utah and Texas Heart Institute with BioLeonhardt www.bioleonhardt.com. Second Heart Assist, Inc. a portfolio startup has plans to launch a catheter delivered circulatory assist stent pump www.secondheartinc.com clinical study OUS after completing a final round of pre-clinical studies this month.

The Leonhardt’s Launchpads team has initiated research projects, advisory agreements, grant applications or patent licenses/options with research collaborators in the Los Angeles area at Caltech, LABiomed, UCLA, UC Irvine, Hoag Hospital, John Wayne Cancer Institute, Pacific Neurosciences Institute, Pepperdine University and USC.

In the 1980’s the Leonhardt team developed a leading cardiovascular balloon catheter, in the 1990s the leading stent graft for aortic aneurysm repair, one of the first percutaneous heart valves, an intravascular lung catheter, an electro magnetic radiation delivery catheter,  a biological pacemaker and one of the first stem cell delivery systems – ProCell. Since 2000 the team has primarily focused on organ regeneration technologies based on stem cells, biologics, micro pumps, micro catheters and bioelectric signaling sequences. In 2001 a Leonhardt led team completed the historic landmark first non-surgical muscle stem cell repair of a human heart in The Netherlands. The core team has been part of healthcare innovation exits to strategic buyers in 1990, 1998, 2000, 2008 and 2014. Many of which are market leading products today.

About Leonhardt’s Launchpads:
Leonhardt’s Launchpads by Cal-X Stars Business Accelerator, Inc. www.lventuresnestg.wpenginepowered.com is the innovation and startup accelerator arm of Leonhardt Ventures LLC focused on organ regeneration and recovery technologies.  The accelerator has 30 startups in its 2019 portfolio class – https://leonhardtventures.com/development-pipeline/.  All but one startup in the current portfolio is based on the same core IP platform of bioelectrics and biologics for organ regeneration just pointed to different organs.

About ScaleLA:

ScaleLAis a 15,000 square foot innovation space dedicated to the growth and prosperity of healthcare innovation in the Los Angeles area. Designed and built over the past year, the space has been named “The 10th Floor” and will provide resources for  hand-selected healthcare, life science, and wellness startups to collaborate, build partnerships, secure investments, and implement their vision for a stronger, healthier region. Since the grand opening 40 companies have joined The 10th Floor and are already building the latest innovations in healthcare technology. ScaleLA and participating startups aim to serve one million patients and drive $1B in collective revenue by 2025.
